Apple Oatmeal Bread

The dried apples are key to this recipe and we recommend the dried granny smith rings from Trader Joe’s.  You’ll want to cut the rings into smaller chunks.

This bread last made an appearance at TCEP 2009 when we did four baking sessions on Saturday and Sunday.  Since then the schedule has been reduced to three baking sessions on each full day to prevent an abundance of leftovers.  Though this bread recipe was retired for a few years, it could always come back if there is enough demand for it.  As always follow your bread machine’s directions for order of ingredients.

Dry Ingredients

2 cups Bread Flour
2 cups Oats
2/3 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons honey
12 ounces applesauce

Yeast

2 1/2 teaspoons yeast

Mix-ins

1/3 cup dried apple, diced

Machine Settings

Loaf type: Fruit & Nut
Loaf size: 1 1/2 lb loaf
